This is the site of the BuzzMonitor™, an open source aggregator conceived and sponsored by the World Bank and co-developed by the World Bank, Development Seed and the World Resources Institute.
Quickstart
The first thing to do after you first log into the BuzzMonitor is to add several feeds. You can do so by clicking on the "Add feed" at the top left corner of the screen.
The best way to get going is to subscribe to several keyword-search feeds for the keywords you are interested in. This way, you will get content not only from your favorite blogs, but from blogs you may not even know about. For instance, if you are interested in Global Warming your first three feeds may well be:
- http://blogsearch.google.com/blogsearch_feeds?hl=en&q=global+warming&ie=...
If you correctly set up scheduled jobs (you have to) during the installation, the articles from the feed will start fetching at the next run of the cron job (typically: every fifteen minutes), but if you need to manually launch the process, for testing purposes, you can do so by clicking on the "leech data now" link on the feed profile page, after you add a feed:
